In comparing these two photos you should not the difference in the shutter speeds. Obviously the slower one created the blurred person while keeping the background in focus and the shorter one got everything in focus. It was sunny outside so I did need to play with other settings like ISO so the picture didnt get blown out. I also had to use a tripod for the blurred shot.
